The only tools needed to adjust a TsG Adjustable Jack Plate on or off the water is a 9/16 Wrench and a 3/4 a Box End Rachet Wrench.

 Some other Manual Jack Plate may need a little more help.

TsG Adjustable Jack Plates are made with 2.5, 4.5, or 6.5 inches of set back and have 3 inches of traval.  

  The 2.5, and 4.5 normal mounting is 2 inches above the transom giving adjustment range of 2 to 5 inches above the transom.

The 6.5 has 3 sets of mounting holes. Each set of mounting holes are 1 inch apart so that you can adjust the mounting height 2 inches with only one set of mounting holes in the transom.

The 6.5 Jack Plate can be use to mount a 15 inch motor on a 15 inch transom, a 20 inch shaft motor on a 20 inch transom, or a 15 inch shaft motor on a 20 inch transom by mounting the Jack Plate below the top of the transom.    

The 6.5 Adjustable Jack Plate has a travel range of 3 inches.

With the 2 inches adjustment of the mounting holes give the 6.5

5 inches of range to adjust your motor height.
